A global credit hedge fund with offices globally is looking to hire a new analyst/associate to join their fund to work with the distressed/special situations m. The team looks after all the distressed credits of the asset manager leveraged, real estate, ABS, infrastructure and public bond assets. Additionally the team manages a third-party European debt opportunities fund.
The team is made up of 6 portfolio managers and has one of the largest AUM within the distressed space. This role will see you joining a brand that everyone wants to for and one that looks excellent on your CV. This should be considered as your long term next step move to the buy side where you can work collaboratively and progress quickly within the fund. They only hire one analyst a year as they value organic growth within their firm.
This is a real quality stamp for technically strong candidates looking to manage large responsibilities early on. For this role you MUST have experience either in M&A, Leveraged Finance, Corporate Finance, DCM, Restructuring or Debt Advisory in general.
Responsibilities will include:-
- Published fundamental research on distressed corporates and event-driven situations, performing detailed business, financial, capital structure, valuation and restructuring analyses to evaluate potential investment opportunities
- Building detailed operating, LBO and restructuring models, conducted detailed due diligence and prepared recommendations for their client portfolio managers.
- Developed an understanding of restructuring/workout dynamics
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop strong relationships with top distressed hedge funds and their portfolio managers
- Meet with distressed debt hedge funds in London and their portfolios to discuss current trends and investment opportunities
- Arrange conference calls with hedge funds globally and entertain them when they come to London
- Attend distressed debt and credit hedge fund conferences monthly with clients representing the firm.
Our client is looking for a candidate as follows:-
- Understanding of the key distressed valuation methodologies
- An outstanding academic record
- Strong math, accounting and financial modelling skills with a high level of attention to detail.
- Detailed understanding of the risk/returns associated with a variety of debt and equity investments.
- Extensive computer skills using Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint are required.
- Strong verbal and written skills are required. A naturally enthusiastic and charismatic attitude.
The competition for this position will be high therefore you must be able to demonstrate that you are hardworking, highly motivated and driven, intellectually curious, interested in financial markets.
The hiring manager is looking for an outperformer therefore excellent interpersonal plus technical skills are required.

to the library.

recycling.

The B-2 and the B-1?both of those bombers were produced during the Cold War. So we were in the middle of this ideological conflict, and as they came off the production line they went off and did testing for nuclear weapons because that was the primary mission and role that we had for them. They slowly grew a conventional capability.
It was a very different world. Back then, nuclear deterrence pretty much was strategic deterrence; that?s not the case [anymore]. Strategic deterrence is economic deterrence, it?s cyber deterrence, it?s space. And there is a much smaller piece of nuclear deterrence. So the most probable use of a bomber in the future is really gonna be to influence decision-maker behavior to try to keep a confrontation from becoming a conflict, mostly by positioning the bombers, by demonstrating force, those kind of things.
But nuclear deterrence remains a mission set. After the airplane comes off the line and we have it conventionally certified with those weapons, then we?ll transition to the nuke certification. We have never certified an airplane and both weapon types at the same time because it?s very different testing and it would drive a whole lot of expense. Frankly, trying to do them simultaneously would slow those tests down. There is a lot of debate about, well, is it nuclear first or is it conventional first? It?s going to be both. It?s just, what?s the priority?
